John Latham: Now Forget Everything You Ever Knew

ONLINE // LONDON, UK

On October 2020 the MA Curating Collections students launched their final show John Latham: Now Forget Everything You Ever Knew, an online exhibition in the format of an interactive pdf. The exhibition starts from an untitled and undated poem written by John Latham around 1975, a notorious figure from the British conceptual art. Latham’s elusive text speaks to a process of unlearning, through an exploration of language that attempts to interrogate received knowledge.

Collectively curated with my colleagues, we invited three art practitioners — Ifeanyi Awachie, Noa Latham and Anna Barham — to respond to the poem through the lens of poetics, time and politics.

The exhibition can be visited through the
Chelsea Space website alongside with the publication "How to curate and exhibition around John Latham during a pandemic". This exhibition is a collaboration between MA Curating and Collections (Chelsea College of Arts, UAL) and Flat Time House (a London landmark that was declared a Living Sculpture in 2003).

This exhibition was made possible by the support of the Director and trustees of Flat Time House.
